The Larnaca Festival of Classical Music, which takes place every April, has one more classical concert to go. Prestigious group of classical Italian soloists and chamber musicians The Umbria Ensemble was chosen to close the festival on Saturday with a concert entitled Rossiniana.
The ensemble will perform well-known chamber music pieces and opera overtures at the Larnaca Municipal Theatre.
That won’t be the only taste of Italian spirit Cyprus will get this month. Dogman by Italian Film Director Matteo Garrone will be screened during the Cyprus Film Days International Festival on Saturday and Monday. The film is a 2018 Italian-French co-production and received prestigious awards including Best Actor, Palm Dog Award and Palme D’Or Nominee at the Cannes Film Festival 2018.
Still with an Italian atmosphere and on the occasion of World Italian Research Day, the Embassy of Italy in Nicosia and The Cyprus Institute co-organise the conference Challenges and Opportunities in the Modelling and Simulation of the Built Environment on Tuesday given by Italian Professor Salvatore Carlucci of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
World Italian Research Day is global and aims to promote and enhance the work of Italian researchers worldwide. The day takes place annually in conjunction with the anniversary of Leonardo Da Vinci’s birth, April 15.
