Tap dancing with Alice

alice-1 Tap dancing with Alice

Given the chance, we would all love an adventure in Wonderland and one is just around the corner at the Rialto theatre in Limassol on Sunday.

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland will be danced out on screen by members of the Royal Ballet, as part of the Royal Opera House Cinema broadcast programme for the whole family.

Through the enchanting choreographies of Christopher Wheeldon and the fascinating music of the composer Joby Talbot, this famous fairytale is staged through a genuine ballet in the spirit of Lewis Carroll’s beloved children’s book.

The story goes that Alice falls down a rabbit hole and when she finally reaches the bottom of it, and is small enough then big enough to fit through the door, she enters into a wonderland. On her way through this strange yet wonderful world she meets a cast of extraordinary characters, from the highly-strung Queen of Hearts – who performs a hilarious send-up of The Sleeping Beauty’s famous Rose Adage – to a playing-card corps de ballet, a sinuous caterpillar and a tap-dancing Mad Hatter.

Grab the kids, there is much fun and games to be had in wonderland once again.

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland
